How did they meet? Zero moved down to LA after leaving his ex into a small apartment across the street from Venessa, above the club he started working at. She had lived there for years with no one moving in, and she was so excited to have a new neighbor so she of course went over and said hi! Zero was not very receptive at first, but she eventually got him out of his shell and they quickly grew close afterwards.

Current opinion on the other: Zero loves Venessa and is extremely grateful to her. He loves and appreciates everything she's done for him, especially dragging him out of his comfort zone.

Venessa adores Zero and sees him like a brother. She is SO proud of him, and loves that they can grow and work together.

Shared hobbies: Photography, they often share reels/tiktoks with each other (and Venessa makes Zero do tiktok trends with her LOL), music (duh lol)

Do they like each other's friends? Zero's friends are mostly mutual
friends between the two of them

Venessa has a LOT of friends. Zero generally gets along with her closer ones, but some are a lot for him lol

Do they like each other's partners? Venessa absolutely LOVES Paka'a. She laughs at Zero for how similar they are, making fun of his very obvious type lol

Were they ever romantically involved? Nope! When they met, Zero was very wary of a relationship with ANYONE, plus Venessa is aroace lol they are often "rumored" by fans to be dating because of how close they are. (plus "omg girl and boy in band together they MUST be dating" smh)

another thing. imagine: Zero wearing a collar kneeling in front of Paka'a BEGGING to eat him out. absolutely pleading. he needs his boypussy so fucking bad bro just one taste BUT HE HAS TO BE A GOOD BOY FIRST!!!!! my brain is going to explode (so is his)

but when Paka'a gives him the go oh my god Zero goes fuckin NUTS he loves getting him off first at Least a few times and does so in rapid succession bc he's just so. unbearably horny. god

all this definitely wouldn't happen until they've been together for a bit bc early on Zero is waaayyyy too fragile for that LOL anytime Paka'a would tease him, even outside of the bedroom, he'd look like a kicked puppy and be like "omg? i'm so sorry??? idk what i did but i'm sorry i won't do it again please don't get mad at me i promise i'm so sorry" which would sometimes spiral into really bad self depreciation lmao poor guy :( but once his mental is better........ i wanted to do a proper backstory post... this ended up focusing on his childhood exclusively. i'm not very good at writing, so i apologize if this isn't very... coherent LOL

okay i wanted to revisit his backstory and make a more solid note about it so others can Understand and it's not just me crying to myself 24/7. starting with establishing side characters important to his childhood/development

• Keiko Rei - his mom, primary abuser. literally could not stand her own son, especially as he got older and began looking more like his father (who was not present in Zero's life).
• Francis & Gloria - his neighbors that he considers his grandparents. they lost their only child years ago and were very attached to Zero, and would have formally adopted him if financially and physically able to.
• Steph - neighbor that was kind of an older sister to him, she's about 7 years older so they weren't that close until his teen years.

Most of what Zero remembers from his childhood begins at about 8-years-old. He remembers little anecdotes here and there from ages 4-7, but not much. The biggest things he remembers is BEGGING to be able to go to school... He saw a commercial about back to school and after his grandparents explained to him what school was, he worked extremely hard to learn how to read and write at least a little so he could enroll in kindergarten the next year. School was definitely his solace as a kid, since home was pretty miserable all the time.

The other place he frequented was church. His mom took him 2-3 times a week, always Wednesday and Sunday, and sometimes on Mondays for bible study. He actually really liked church for a while, since he got to be out of the house and only around his mom some of the time they went. He was in choir and this was his first exposure to creating music in some sense, he really loved singing. It was a small church of mostly locals so it's not like the choir was super serious, but he still liked it and it influenced him a lot.

His other exposure to music was his grandpa, who played guitar. Zero asked for aggeeessss to be taught how to play, and Francis gave him his first guitar and started giving him lessons for his 9th birthday. It was a little big, but he only had adult-sized ones... but Zero didn't care one bit, he was ecstatic to be able to learn how to play! Francis also taught him how to properly read and write music, which became a very invaluable skill for him.

Anyway back to being 8 lol 8-years-old is around the time when Zero had to become more independent. He started journaling around this time since he didn't have anyone to talk to, and he couldn't express himself to his mom because she'd just punish him for it. He also began learning how to cook (his mom never cooked, and they mostly just had snacks at home. he was tired of it, especially over break while he couldn't get hot meals at school.), and would go to the local food bank after school on Mondays when he didn't have church. He didn't know how to cook much, and was pretty limited in his ingredients. He mostly made soups because they were easy enough most of the time, and pretty forgiving when it came to "just putting what you have together" LOL he would often write down recipes from home magazines at the dollar store since his mom wouldn't let him buy the actual thing.

The most he was allowed to buy was CDs! When they'd go to the thrift store, he'd get a couple dollars and he could get a few CDs for that since they were usually 50 cents or so. He usually just picked them based on the vibes of the album art, and sometimes he loved them and others.... not so much. But, this is how he began expanding his music interests and got really interested in rock and metal subgenres, he thought it was sooooo cool. His mom hated him listening to them on the stereo at home, so he began working to make money buy a walkman. By taking the bus to nearby neighborhoods and asking random people if he can do any work for them! Somehow it worked. Some people just looked at him like "uhm, no," and slammed the door on him, but a lot of people were actually pretty nice and found something for him to do, probably because they felt bad. In hindsight it was very dangerous of him to do that, but he didn't know that at the time.

I don't have a good segue into the next part, but I want to talk a bit more about the actual abuse Zero goes through. When he's older, he mostly talks about his mom being neglectful, which she is, but he doesn't really understand everything else she put him through until he starts unpacking it in therapy. She constantly would insult him to his face, while also relying on him and asking him to help her with things. He felt like he needed to help her because, well, it's his mom. despite everything, he loved her and he felt obliged to help her. It was confusing for him, and was a level of psychological abuse he went through that he's STILL trying to understand as an adult. She also would beat him for... just about anything. Anything she could define as wrong or being disrespectful, she would beat him for. He became very conflict avoidant because of it and always felt like he was walking on eggshells around her, which again followed him into adulthood.

As a kid he was very quiet, and nervous. He loved school and learning in general, and was quite attached to a lot of his teachers because he didn't get the same positive attention at home. He was never any good at making friends, and got bullied often, especially for his long hair (which he actually liked, so that made him Extra sad). His entire life revolved around his mom; taking care of her, being available when she needed him, and making sure he didn't upset her (which, honestly, was unavoidable. But he didn't know that.)

anyway i have no idea of this is actually comprehensible i'm just tryna get shit out there. maybe I'll do another one later for his teen years and early adulthood. ok bye 💃🏾
