Now (re)Playing: Chrono Trigger, Yakuza Kiwami 2
Now to try and clean these guys up, too.
Day 22 - Not really. Clergy inspired by the words of the Lightlord capable of using magic can learn spells taught by the Church, but that's more coincidental.
Day 23 - Those are a thing, yes. Mostly incantations, spoken within the mind.

That being said, IRL issues aside, let's see if we can't knock some of these out.
Day 22 - I got nothin'. No time for aesthetic boards.
Day 23 - No.
Day 24 - Mel's real name, "Melia," is an old Greek word for an ash tree, usually referring to the spirits living inside them.

Day 21 - Mel usually feels annoyance, as when there's music happening in the group, Zelkiiro's behind it, and she finds his musical antics grating. Winona, on the other hand, greatly enjoys these little melodic interludes, often feeling a wistful nostalgia as she listens.

Day 21 - Mel isn't a morning person, per se, but she can function well enough. Out of necessity. If the church bells ringing out the hour in the city she's sleeping in don't wake her up at 6:00am, she'll be snoozin' until at least 10:00.

Day 19 - No. Mel can carry a tune fine enough, but she'll never wow anyone with her voice, and she can't play an instrument to save her life. Her demon hunter training left her no time for such frivolity.

Day 19 - One of the most helpful bits of writing advice I've seen is actually Trey Parker's "therefore/but" clause:
Every piece of your story should be connected by "therefore" or "but." Either Scene A causes Scene B, or Scene A is contrasted with Scene B.
If your scenes are

Day 18 - Yes.
...Uhh, that's it, I guess. I included one song thus far, and it has lyrics.

Day 18 - I'm doing some mass relistenings to bands in my collection where a lot of their songs didn't make it into my playlist, just to see if more belong there. They include:
Angra
Cryonic Temple
2000s Edguy
Heavenly
Magica
Orphaned Land
Saturnus
Mardelas
Noble Beast
+ more!

Day 17 - Eh, not really. At least, not in any way that's relevant to the story. I'm sure there are music-mancers out there somewhere and that some important tales are told through or about song, but I didn't write 'em. That would require imagination on my part. :V

Day 16 - Eh, there's no special purpose to music unique to my story. Music is music. Personal melodic expression varying by region. Narratively, it exists to add flavor to the world and to the characters who enjoy it.

Day 17 - I don't have no fairytale poems and I don't know what flash fiction means, so enjoy this free nothingburger. There will be a $15 service fee.

Day 16 - Day late. This snippet comes early into "Idle Hands," when a new pair of foes is established to be on equal fighting terms with the party, and Mel finds herself being very nearly-fatally wounded. Thus rushes in a brand-new character, the fellborn paladin, Ea:

Day 15 - I'm not smart enough to invent new instruments, so much of the classics are here. Pianos, flutes, guitars, harps, clarinets--if it exists in 1890, it probably exists here, too!
At one point, Zelkiiro conjures an illusory guitar and plays a mournful old ballad with it.

Day 15 - Some of my comfort movies include Jurassic Park, Twister, The Shawshank Redemption, and the extended edition Lord of the Rings.
For TV shows, I always go back to Daria, South Park, Bojack Horseman, Monster, and Cowboy Bebop. :V

Day 14 - Solus Victus, the god revered by humans and their allies, is allegedly the personification of all that is good.
The gods of the elves and their allies, however, aren't so strictly defined, and behave more like the Greek gods--flawed, but duty-bound to their roles.

Mel and Winona, specifically. A good chunk of the story is just about how their relationship blossoms.

Day 13 - The chief god revered by humans, Solus Victus, is god of pretty much everything down on Clova, but he's most associated with the sun, light, warmth, life, goodness, and all that.
Elves, and those within their orbit, focus their worship on a triad of gods, instead:

Day 13 - Once upon a time, I preferred audiobooks, as I could do things while digesting a novel, but now that I'm writing novels, it feels like a dumb idea to try to do both at once, since wires WILL be crossed.
So now I'm back to physical copies. Paperback plz.

Day 12 - Well, Mel spends the entirety of Book 1 under the thumb of a high-ranking devil, but given certain facts, it's unclear if they can be counted as 'divine' entities, in the supernatural sense.
So, uhh...Mel has no other relations with divine beings. Yet...?

Days 9, 10, 11 - The gods don't interact much with the world. I don't really have anything interesting to put here. :/

Day 8 - My dream and goal is to finally get this bastard published and that it makes enough money that I don't have to worry about rent for a little while, until Book 2 gets published and keeps the rent train going.

Day 7 - No single entity runs the schools in the New World. Some are publicly-funded, some are private enterprises, some are run by the Church. Hooray for non-answers!
The school that actually matters in the story, the Vimurian Magikademy, is privately funded, though no one
