AI Design Review is here. 🦆

Think of it as that teammate who never misses:

→ Layout inconsistencies
→ Typos & casing mismatches
→ Accessibility issues
→ Missed token/component usage

Hey friends!

Today’s the day: we’re introducing 2 new AI-powered features. 🦤

One loves order. The other… has opinions. ↓

An extra set of eyes to make sure your designs are dev-ready.

Coming soon to Zeplin. 👀

2 new AI-powered features are almost here.

One loves order. The other… has opinions.

You only need 2 things to go from designs to production:

→ Zeplin screen link
→ AI agent like Cursor or Claude Code

We’ve been thinking a lot about how AI could actually help Zeplin users — not just another “look, it’s AI!” feature, but something real.

So we ran an AI hackathon. …then things got weird. 😳

Another big one from last week’s 25+ updates: Dynamic project types.

No more locking a project to Web, iOS, or Android — devs can now switch platforms any time, in any project.

(Finally crossed this one off the all-time most-requested list. 😮‍💨)

Here’s one of our favorite updates from last week: Version-aware comments.

Zeplin now shows which version of a screen a comment was left on — and you can jump right to it.

Here’s a big one from last week’s 25+ updates: Tailwind CSS snippets!

Zeplin now has an official Tailwind CSS extension, so devs can grab:

→ Utility class names from individual layers
→ Theme variables from styleguide colors, text styles, and spacing
June 25, 2025 at 3:32 PM
From last week’s big batch of updates, here’s a new way to leave feedback:

You can now leave area comments on a screen — instead of dropping a single dot. Perfect for feedback that spans more than one element.

To add one, click and drag while adding a comment. ↓

Last week we rolled out over 25 updates to Zeplin — here’s a quiet change with a big impact:

Zeplin now automatically generates AVIF images for exportable layers behind the scenes.

No extra work for you. Just faster, lighter assets for your devs.

Little behind-the-scenes moment:

Before launching our MCP server last week, we used it to build the MCP UI in Zeplin — to make sure it actually worked in production workflows. ↓

Hey friends! We’ve been heads down for 6 weeks — and cooked up 25 new features.

Yes, twenty-five.

3 mains, 22 sides.

Pull up a chair and let’s dig in. 🍽️

We’ve spent the past 6 weeks focused on parts of Zeplin that hadn’t gotten much love in a while — and we’ve got a lot to share later this week! 👀

What’s faster: making coffee or exporting 100 frames to Zeplin?

(It’s Zeplin.)
June 6, 2025 at 3:56 PM
We’re entering a new _area_ of feedback soon:
June 4, 2025 at 6:46 AM
Add a little -v to your frame name and Zeplin turns it into a variant. One character, and your devs will thank you. 🪄

Frame name → Default variant
Frame name -v Error → Error variant

The fine folks at @sketch.com just launched Stacks — and yes, Zeplin already supports it!

Big thanks to the Sketch crew for working with us on this one. 💛

Friends! A few weeks back, we completely overhauled Styleguides in Zeplin.

If you're looking for a way to neatly organize and share your components, give it a go. You can sync your Figma library with just one click — only takes a couple of minutes.

Hey friends! We just restructured Zeplin Styleguides. 🍱

→ Dedicated pages for components
→ New Foundations tab w/ Icons page
→ Redesigned About page w/ notes
→ Better performance
