apex gives me a kick that I don't even think crack could give me so I had to step back from it out of fear of having a heart attack playing it one day

I don't even think the topic is uninteresting, it's just the fact that we did it fresh out of highschool and it often requires a lot of mathematical tricks and background knowledge to solve some of the harder ones (that can't be solved directly with the standard methods) so I struggled with it a lot

there are probably applications out there, we wouldn't have learned it otherwise...

it's like the one math topic from the first semester of engineering that I never ended up needing again
