I didn't think it was particularly realistic that some sort of gang of plucky miscreants could possibly overcome the might of AYTAN ZARDO. The Magnificently Malicious EMPEROR ZARDO would simply have brushed all resistance aside like the insects they are, even if they did have the sword of stars.

I wasn't a fan of the time war stuff. But much of the continuity nitpicks and other YouTube issues never really bothered me, and the characters more than make up for any shortcomings.

In several different ways across a variety of episodes iirc. All sorts of souls or soul equivalents out there among the stars.

Dan Carlin does an incredibly well-measured series on this exact topic.

That's such a stupid goal. The Wild West never existed in major cities, and the actual rural West is still wild. Most of the "taming" we did outside of cities was left fallow again because it was all inaccessible to infrastructure development and almost nobody actually wants to live like that.

Funnily enough, on my first real playthrough of DS, I went backwards through blight town solely to avoid the Taurus Demon. (To spite it for ending my previous run attempts)

This sentence is actually a great encapsulation of SAO on every macro and micro level. They set themselves up on a solid podium of conceptual marble and then proceed to win the gold in every single event at the Junk-Batting Olympics.
