Thank you, sir! You're today's MVP

Seconded. I watch stuff to feel good, not to feel bad. Studios, take notes!

Look at Scalzi here being a real person and using know stuff and not some discontinued windows 95 text editor that he runs on a i486.

Pior que lá pelo início do mês eu estava com umas duas a três semanas de atraso em alguns podcasts, mas na última semana empolguei e alcancei todos

Everything aside, I see you're the Dinosaur Comics guy and I want to say thank you! It's been a while, but younger me loooooved those comics to the point I'd reference them in casual talk when no one from my circles knew what I was talking about (their loss, obviously)

But today a CD doesn't make sense to the average music consumer. It has no use and no vanity appeal. That's why other kind of merchandise will sell better, like t-shirts, keychains, cups, mugs, etc. You can picture yourself interacting with them (even if you won't in the end, but it's more tangible)

Years ago it made sense to have CDs, you had a dedicated place to store and possibly display them and you'd interact with them a lot because you needed to in order to listen to music. And it was the only way for you to access the music, which is what you wanted to in the first place.
November 23, 2023 at 10:26 AM
Nowadays few people have CD players, and much less a dedicated place to keep their CDs. The way we interact with music has changed, or, to put it better, the path we go through in order to listen to music. We have more convenient ways and the end result is the same (music comes off speakers).

This is fair, but it's essential to take into account the public's viewpoint. When you buy something you think of yourself first and the seller/artist second. You can wear a t-shirt, attach a keychain to your backpack... nowadays a CD is something that you'll keep in a drawer and never look at again

Goliath Clint Barton. Honestly think not even the people involved like that. (img src: www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece... )

There are two kinds of people I'm afraid of: the ones that keep ALL their e-mail and the ones that delete ALL their e-mail (including cleaning the trash and checking the spam box each time they open their mailbox)

Loved how easy it was to discover new music there. The "moods" playlists were really cool and diverse. Most importantly: the player and playlist just worked the way they should, i.e. you could just organize whatever you were listening to the way you wanted to, make playlists on the go, etc.

Se chama babador (ou babete, dependendo da região)

That's what I think. Like Once Upon a Time, that has a similar concept, but they don't live in Fabletown, for example. People are focusing on the characters as if they're the only thing that makes a story or a "world", but their relations, personalities and setting is what's really worth.

The best part IMO is that, it being public domain, you can make derivative work from 'scratch' (i.e. 'rewrite' most of it if you'd like, forget stuff you think shouldn't be canon, etc) and not have to worry if it gets 'too close' to the inspiration.

I think you could argue that they're specific interpretation of these characters and were susceptible to trademark. That can sound weird, but some time ago Netflix had to fight Conan Doyle's estate because their portrayal of Sherlock had too much emotion and 'that Sherlock' was still protected.
