theres not a wall of professionalism that gym leaders usually have. when the characters lose to you they become motivated to improve and better themselves so they can win. so they feel more genuine and enjoyable to me

i especially love that people walk around the city with their partner pokemon... it makes the setting feel more immersive and alive compared to previous games
