Following a presentation on the planned development of Tri-County Head Start at 1917 E. 3rd Ave., Lisa Stone the Executive Director of Head Start said this development will allow an increase in childcare capacities from 61 kids to 78 kids.

Lily Oswald of the Community Development Department presented Tri-County Head Start development plans to meet parking demands.
Oswald requested feedback from the CDC on the plans.
Commissioner Blake Frederickson expressed concern on parking in excess of 319 spaces, the minimum requirement.

Following a presentation on the proposed minor subdivision of 688 Animas View Dr. during the CDC meeting, the Thompson Minor Subdivision Preliminary Plan has been approved unanimously.

This plan will split the lot into 1 duplex and 1 single family home with a shared driveway.

The Durango School District 9-R has received a $50,000 donation from the La Plata County Colorado State University Extension Office.

This money will be put towards a grow dome with phase 2 of the SOIL project, which will be accessible to district students and residents in spring 2024.

City Council voted to add time for Chief Black of the Durango Fire Department to speak at the next meeting surrounding the importance of fire mitigation.

This decision follows a letter the council received from Black expressing concern about the wildfires in California.
