Obviously there's more to this, I'll share more in the future...

I was wondering what are your experience with paid ads for #books.

Amazon ads.
Those are the ones that may benefit you to some extent. You'll need an awesome copy, relay aim for a very specific audience but it can work.

Amazon ads are contained inside the sale store. People don't need to hop pages they're already there and in buying mindset.

Of course all stages have their own upgrades and additional steps.
And you gotta active first two groups alongside ads for sales to get the maximum effect.

But what if you don't have time, energy, etc to do first two and you just want to do some ads since you're #book is (almost) out?

That's because you first need the crowd to sell your book to.
Followers are the first step since people don't need to leave the platform.
Than it's newsletter subscribers since that's the list of people you have direct access too.
And than with the above two you can expend to sales.

It's been more than 15 years since first one... some of the performers that took part for OST1 are no longer among us (still mourning Origa).

And now we got the addition of Simon Franglen! I can't even...

Here's Simon Franglen part:

ISBN is basically a book ID. It's put in national catalog and more often than not through laws requires you to send a few copies to national library. This is for purpose of preserving cultural. So with ISBN your guarantee log of your book for much longer than you could with no ISBN.

You want to sale your book through non-amazon bookstores and 3rd party retail shops too? They need ISBN which serves as catalog number for them. They may refuse handling your book with no ISBN. Some distribution services may help with that, but most with want ISBN.

ISBN are usually controlled and allocated by national/state body of your area.
In lot's of countries this service is free so getting it is a no brainier. I do hear that in US you have to pay for it though so it's an added cost you have to consider.

Their first album has most of it. But I ware there's a track where vocal uses the same vocals as the guy in the short above does.

I know of Asa-Chang & Junray for more than a decade and absolutely love them. How tabla hits are linked to specific pre-recorded sounds they pay through Junray and who that gets to make full song tickles my brain just the right way.
But evenly now and than I get to hear those exact sounds too!

They don't, and you shouldn't either.
Pat yourself for the 200 words you've written and celebrate it.

Regardless of what anyone does no one works at 100% every day. It's how we humans work.
Recognizing that and giving yourself compassion for it will make it easier to get through the shitty days.

Awesome! No need to wait for the 300th round, 299th should be enough 😂
Seriously though, if you're editing as you go it's probably good enough to send it to few people for first reaction. You got this!
The few snippets you've posted look neat. I'd love to see how they fit into the story one day :)

In my case I'd want to see a page or two anyway before committing.

And I see see how you'd want to get some feedback on tyour start. I often encounter cases were writers need to cut off a few of the initial chapters to get to the starting point that's interesting enough to suck the reader in.

You may want to search for alpha readers or critique partner (fellow writer) first than. Beta readers usually don't deal with first drafts but script that has been polished a bit.
I could still give it a look, but I'd need to know the sate of the book so I don't accidentally obliterate you 😅

Hey Jay!
I offer beta reading as a service, DM me if you're interested. If you want a completely free version you can try to search for people at goodreads or reddit in beta reader groups.
However, sounds like you haven't finished the book yet so you haven't done a round of edits yet (?)--- >>
