Dying Light 2 is -weird-. So much story, but I also just got an in-game option to rate a mission I just finished. Also, it opened with a video actor thanking me for how much I apparently love the “characters” and “world” of the franchise. Fucking -relax-, game.

i need more trump first term style cabinet crashouts bc 3 more years of powerful people treating autism like a horrible curse on your bloodline is going to do me in

maybe i should watch THE FOG again. i've got a nifty 4k disc of it, seen it three or four times now; but while it has some great moments, it never quite added up to top tier Carpenter for me. somewhere in the middle with CHRISTINE (although miles above dreck like MEMOIRS OF AN INVISIBLE MAN)

a guy lives his whole life just to hear something like that. congrats. all downhill from here.

you're right. i think i was distracted remembering the bit where Kennedy districts a heat-seeking missile by shooting a flare gun out of the cockpit.
zhandlen.bsky.social
oh shiiiiiit is this the one where Alain Delon sets Kennedy up with a prostitute?

I’ve heard the term, but I’ve just never thought much about it? Thought it meant something super sensitive people noticed. The only time I can easily read expressions is when I watch movies or shows, because the performance aspect is designed to make it more readable.

so uh wild question do people always show emotion on their face because I uh thought most expressions were neutral.

oh my god. (it’s an autism thing. I usually get emotions via vocal tones. It never even occurred to me that facial expressions could have meaning between extremes.)

“Bring in the perverts!” forgot how much fun THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE is

That’s been the plan for a while now! I’ve got the complete series on Blu Ray, looking forward to diving into it soon.

Yo @zhandlen.bsky.social , now that you're almost done reviewing all the 20th century Treks I'm gonna re-up my suggestion that you tackle Babylon 5 next. It really is Basically A Trek Show with the serial numbers filed off. I'm rewatching it now and interested to see what you think.

watching THE GRUDGE (2020). already assuming it won’t be great, but I’ll watch Andrea Riseborough in most anything.

I think if a video game has a character who’s pretending to be good but you know they’re evil, you should be able to kill them early on the replay. Even if’s just a non-standard ending.

just don't talk about that last season swerve that has him hitting on Seven.

wish I could go back in time and tell the girl who tried hitting on me in high school, “no, I wasn’t being an asshole, I’m just autistic”

replaying God of War: Ragnarok, and I’d forgotten just how little faith the game had in its players; the dialogue, which was a highlight of the first, is still good, apart from the constant hints and reminders, the developers clearly terrified I might have to think for myself for a moment.

man i am -not- good at Silent Hill puzzles.

(Which is how the first Hades worked, and how most roguelikes work these days, I just think it’s funny.)
zhandlen.bsky.social
I beat Chronos for the first time in Hades 2! As a reward, I can make the game -even harder-.
zhandlen.bsky.social
how complicated is it? i want to try the game, but i'm worried i'll be overwhelmed.
