I think the mindset is that you are protecting a 3rd party from misinformation, and/or baseless propaganda.
The troll isn't going to change their mind, but you could save someone else from being swayed by their perspective.

Deckard is definitely SLAM tracked, so won't /need/ Basestations, but it's plausible they stick a couple of photodiodes on it for playspace merging purposes.

They're actually still in stock on Steam in the UK, and I think the Netherlands.
I have bought four at Valve prices in preparation for Beyond 2E.
Strangely HTC also have them discounted to "only" £10 more than Steam in a Summer sale ATM.
It's possible they could put them on sale in the US too.

I am still hoping Shiftall's Contact Track amounts to something. It could provide the Lighthouse replacement we need, using cheaper, simpler components.
