It's ok, the media worked hard to cover it up for him. I lived a block or so from where it happened. No one in LA at the time would stop at night for anything other than picking up a trans sex worker and it absolutely isn't where you would just give someone a ride. He knew.

The first few episodes are mos def rough until it finds its footing. Eventually it becomes more silly fish out of water and much less snooty. That and the characters end up having meaningful relationships that make them grow in to better people. I've never had a sitcom make me ugly cry before.

I'm usually with you on the not liking shows about terrible people but both White Lotus and Schitt's Creek are my exceptions.
