in japanese, gilbert - around everyone except aramis - uses 'watashi' on himself. around aramis he uses 'ore'. here he uses 'ore'. the way this sentence is structured makes the '...suki da' part more suspenseful and heartfelt-sounding while also being less formal 😌

maybe the interview/notes explain these, but i think these are gilbert and virginia before they were gilbert and virginia. the third image is them but with altered designs; gilbert looks taller too.
