I think about your dad quite a lot. One of the high water marks of my career was painting him in 2001 for Complaints & Grievances. (I still remember what the show was titled before September 10th, btw. 😮)

I worked at 1 Penn Plaza on the 53rd floor with south-facing floor-to-ceiling windows in 2001.
This was my view that morning, taken with my Olympus digital camera; it wasn't until a week later that I got the media card plugged in to my Mac.
I hate this goddamned day.

This is top-of-the-pyramid mastery. Fawcett might make it look simple given his extraordinary skill and deft brush yet that only serves to further showcase the virtuosity.
