So yeah, the only real issue is they're cutting it like an extra long movie, not a TV series. Thematically I'm loving everything else.

Like the leggy sheep sequence hardcuts to the technician turning around, and *those* Wendy whistling/technician whistling scenes played back-to-back

I've been enjoying it a lot so far, although I will admit the pacing is off; I feel like it would have been better if episodes 1-4 were stretched out over 5 episodes, and episode 5 was split up into flashback intervals for thematically relevant points.
