I usually put it in a sieve to check I have everything but I found these by hand! They're about 1mm each so it felt very good to find them c':

Anyway the beetles took one of the wrists apart and wandered off with some of the bones, and because I hadn't cleaned out the tub they were cleaning in there was just a mountain of beetle poop and shed for me to sift through

Also my visual-spacial skills are a nightmare so every wrist I articulate involves at least two hours of me vaguely touching bones together, willing myself to understand where they should go >>

I've been trying to pull specimens before the beetles get in and chew all the ligaments out of the wrists and ankles, especially with weird creatures like bats who have no references for how those bones are meant to go together

I've been processing a grey-headed flying fox for skeletal preparation with my lovely dermestid colony! I left her in with the bugs for a bit longer than I probably should've because they weren't super keen on eating the wing membranes, and some of them decided to disarticulate one of the wrists :/
