Incredible turnout today for a mutual aid food drive in Evanston, 2 days after people were beaten and abducted by ICE/feds and schools had to go on soft lockdown. We know how to come together.

Excited to announce that my novel COIN OF THE REALM will be published in 2027!

I started working on this so long ago. It's a dystopia set in the near future, but real events have made conditions worse, faster, than I imagined. Now I'm categorizing it as a cozy dystopia. Hope people read it.

I'm going to start telling how I decide to read the books I do. For some reason it seems connected to the discourse around the death of books coverage. This is about The Convenience Store Woman. The image of Muraka’s writing process may never leave me. open.substack.com/pub/zoezolbr...

A book about a powerful, mystical, misunderstood, furious conceptual artist who is stalked and strikes back might be the catharsis you need right now.https://open.substack.com/pub/zoezolbrod/p/woo-woo?r=t39s&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=false

Happy to pay on the Metra even tho it’s easy not to because I think of it as a vote for the Metra, which I love.

OK (not really) but that subtitle is a total mismatch with my novel, and the AI it/they ignored my better book.

When I read books in translation and/or written decades ago I’m reminded that my favorite way to learn is to be swept up in a narrative that relies on background knowledge I don’t quite have yet.

#1 takeaway. We who are middle class and above need to loudly support multi-family and low-income housing IN OUR NEIGHBORHOODS
