It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon in the Bronx and Harlem at our paper shredding events — we cleared out old junk mail, built community, danced, took family portraits and enjoyed frozen treats (it still felt a lot like summer). Thanks to everyone who joined.

I grew up going to Zabar's. So many of my childhood memories center around the best lox in NYC (which is saying something). With Saul Zabar's passing today, the Upper West Side has lost a legend who turned his parent's humble store into a culinary institution.

My statement on the two year anniversary of October 7, 2023.
“Two years ago today, Hamas carried out a horrific war crime, killing more than 1,100 Israelis and kidnapping 250 more. I mourn these lives and pray for the safe return of every hostage still held and for every family whose lives were torn apart by these atrocities.

In the aftermath of that day, Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Israeli government launched a genocidal war: adeath toll that now far exceeds 67,000; with the Israeli military bombing homes, hospitals, and schools into rubble. Every day in Gaza has become a place where grief itself has run out of language. I mourn these lives and pray for the families that have been shattered. Our government has been complicit through it all.

This must end. The occupation and apartheid must end. Peace must be pursued through diplomacy, not war crimes, and our government must act to end these atrocities and hold those responsible to account.

These last two years have demonstrated the very worst of humanity. We must answer it by modeling the very best: a relentless pursuit of our higher ideals and an unwavering commitment to universal human rights.”

I'm honored to have Sen. @agounardes' support in this campaign for a New York that truly works for everyone.

From tackling the affordability crisis to rebuilding trust in government, we share a vision for a city where no one has to struggle just to make ends meet.

This afternoon, I sat with Palestinian New Yorkers in Astoria and listened to what they and their families have endured as the genocide in Gaza continues, funded by our government.

In the face of immeasurable grief, they have showed unbreakable resilience.

Staten Island’s Albanian Muslim community has always been a force for entrepreneurship and service.

I’m grateful I got to meet with local leaders about how my administration plans to support small businesses and give every community a real seat at the table.

From Park Hill to the Wu-Wall, the creativity and resilience of Shaolin Island built a movement that changed culture. I felt that same spirit today with local artists, faith leaders, Liberian entrepreneurs, and the legendary Chef Shaw-Nae Dixon + Mitchell “Divine” Diggs.

It was a privilege to join Staten Island leaders today to talk about unity, economic opportunity, and making sure no borough is left behind.

I’m especially grateful to Father Hank Tuell, Hon. Debi Rose, and Gerald “GeeBee” Barclay for bringing us together on this beautiful Saturday!

My heart breaks for the families and loved ones of the two teenage girls who tragically lost their lives last night atop the J train.

This tragic incident is a stark reminder of the dangers of subway surfing, which continues to take the lives of too many young New Yorkers every year.

This week, the Global Sumud Flotilla tried to deliver life-saving aid to Gaza.

Instead, 461 people—including New Yorkers—have been detained by the Israeli military.

They must be freed at once. And the deliberate starvation of Palestinians must end now.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 3: Earl Manigault

When he stepped onto the court, the world watched. No one dunked harder or jumped higher. But the GOAT never made it pro.

There are countless NYC stories like his. Brilliant talents lost to drugs or crime. It doesn’t have to be this way.

"Think of the words of Dr. King from decades ago. He said, 'call it democracy or call it democratic socialism, there has to be a better distribution of wealth for all of God's children in this country,' and that's the heart of it." ✊

The most important decision we made on this campaign was to listen to New Yorkers. And they told us again and again that the greatest challenge they face is the cost of living.

On Tuesday, I had the privilege of meeting with members of New York's entertainment unions, who fight for good wages, benefits and working conditions while powering one of our city's most vital industries.

This election is in your hands. But only if you’re registered to vote in New York City.

The deadline is Saturday. zohranfornyc.com/vote
zohrankmamdani.bsky.social
"Between June 9, when the video dropped, and the June 14 registration deadline, 54,291 people registered to vote... That’s 82% of all the voters who registered in June and 43% of all registrations in 2025 before the June 14 cutoff."

New York City, I can see a future with you. And it’s one we can afford.

Our new ad just aired during The Golden Bachelor.

It’s the first of the month, a day that brings dread and uncertainty for so many struggling tenants.

And for the 2+ million New Yorkers in stabilized apartments, this month means another rent hike — the fourth in a row under this Mayor.

But change is coming.

We’re united with baristas in their fight for a fair contract. And if Starbucks’ failure to bargain in good faith forces them to go on strike, you’ll find me on the picket line.

Starbucks workers shouldn't be living paycheck to paycheck when CEO Brian Niccol has the highest CEO-to-worker pay gap in the country. It would take only A SINGLE DAY’S sales to finalize fair union contracts. JUST ONE DAY.

Thank you for rallying with us today, @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social ! ✊🔥
