The initial part was very fun. Loved the "dog memories" part! I'm continually impressed by the level of voice acting and production. I grew up with audio dramas, it's a big thing in Germany. And when listening to it in this episode, I thought again: this is professional quality, on the same level as commercial productions. The Samhain part... was the first time I listened to that in the podcast. The stories that were told... as it went on, they hit me a lot harder than I expected. Initially I was still doing things around the house, but then I had to stop... when it was over, had some tears in my eyes. I had to take some time to let it all sink a little. You — and with that I mean all of you at ZooTT — are doing an important, and in a way incredibly beautiful, thing with that. It was very touching, left me with melancholy, but in a serene way.

It is wild for us to know, especially given our incredibly niche audience, that #ZooTT is within the top 10% of all podcasts based on downloads within the first week of an episode’s release.

We’re thankful that this community is so engaged, and we hope you’ll stick around!

I’m gonna sum up what’s interesting here: The article suggests that it’s tough to compare yourself to a podcast about game of thrones when your podcast is about some niche interest. The article offers two things to consider when thinking about how successful your podcast is: Firstly, how many folks out there are interested enough in your topic to actually want to consume content about it? Secondly, how many of those people are current podcast listeners? For question 1, our podcast is for a petty niche audience, and for 2, our data shows most listeners don’t listen to any podcast except for ours. This makes our engagement remarkable. The last two episodes surpassed 500 downloads within the first 7 days of being published.
