If it doesn't work, our IDs get stolen
If it does work, we normalize yet another surveillance avenue

We don't need 'rock solid' implementation of an idea whose best outcome is *worse than nothing*

Plus kids will circumvent immediately. Get a scanned ID off google. Ask an adult friend. Etc...

They had to get everybody+camp on the helicopter home before a storm hit. There simply wasn't time to try again, or to try to melt the ice, etc... Their window of opportunity closed too fast.

First Eric L. Smidt, the founder of Harbor Freight Tools, was the first owner (2015). He was the owner when Epstein died. Then 2022 it was purchased by Brett Bundy, an Australian billionaire, but he sold it to JKR in 2023.

To be fair- she bought the yacht years after Epstein died. Whether it was a legit system glitch, or she wanted to insulate herself from the travel history of the yacht's previous owner, or she's protecting someone... who knows?

She's done enough damage all on her own, without adding spin.

It's not in his power to postpone the elections. It's in congress' hands.

The question is- if Trump and his loyalists call for a postponement on the grounds of an active rebellions, would arresting ICE- effectively LEO vs LEO battles in our own cities- convince enough turn-coat democrats to agree?
January 24, 2026 at 8:30 PM
So Trump won't have grounds to cancel the midterm elections?

Because if ICE starts being arrested, he may just get his wish to get an insurrection declared.

Cars will be colorful again when drivers buy new and expect to keep the car until it dies.

IOW, when the economy is stable enough for personal taste to outweigh the resale value hit of a 'weird' color compared to a neutral one.

We haven't had that in >20 years, so 'colorful' cars are dying out.

Then their employers need to hire more hands, so the rest aren't handing over labor they aren't being adequately compensated for.

From the Starbucks barista handling the work of two, to the nurses watching too many patients, to teachers with crammed classrooms. Those won't improve out of the blue.

Can't speak for elsewhere, but in CA the left lane can be an exit lane. Most common when a freeway ends and the traffic splits in two different directions, but sometimes it's just an exit lane (see: 5 South -> 60 in LA)

The heathens in our household microwave the milk+cereal to make something like 'if cream of wheat had to be chewed'

Especially if there is a little sugar added to the milk, since the cereal itself has none.

HS C++ class, I managed to get undefined as a runtime error

I called over my teacher, a retired NASA guy, to show him
1) Error only got flagged mid-compile
2) CTRL+F -> 0 results. I'd deleted every instance already

The *compiler memory* was corrupted

His verdict- "that's an error to be proud of!"

Tell us you don't know anything about Altadena, without saying 'I never knew Altadena existed until a week ago'.

Altadena isn't rich, it grew out of desegregation of Pasadena. These are working class people in homes they bought decades ago in the hope of building something their kids could inherit.

Racism is a hell of a thing.

But also people so deep left they wanted to do a 'punishment' vote, for Harris not being left enough for them.
January 13, 2025 at 2:34 AM
...Altadena was built in the 60s-80s. Those houses are generations old, and are built in the same block formations as any other suburb.

Replace 'low religious involvement' with 'loss of 3rd spaces'

Church performed a social function as much as a spiritual one. The church social is a community hub- by having a regular schedule meeting and a wide body of participants.

We need more of that- we don't need the religious background.

Number of nipples comes down to number of young in a litter, and as far as I know we've only seen single-pup litters. So two nipples would make sense, which under this definition would be tits.
December 10, 2024 at 9:15 PM
Suppose it depends on how you delineate 'tit' from 'teat' from 'breast'.

I vote 'only pronounced breast tissue during milk production, otherwise fairly flat', like most primates. Why humans have perennial breasts is still a question, but there's no reason to believe wookies would have them too.

Last night I destressed from my actual job (engineering) by researching whether a garrot could damage the larynx without cutting into the jugular or carotid first.

To put a DND bard in A Situation.

My curiosity is not yours- which is good! The global body of knowledge expands faster that way.

I tried to find sceeenshots of Chewbacca's wife to check, but there isn't much chest definition under all that hair.

I'd guess something more like other primates (only pronounced breasts when producing milk), but much furrier.

I'm a pretty good engineering TA! My students like me, and my pedagogy seems effective for their long-term learning.

If a teacher made a difference in your life, please drop them an email about where you are now and what they meant to you. We love those!

This guy was killing thousands a year to line his pocketbook.

Sure it wasn't his finger on the trigger. That doesn't mean it wasn't him calling the shot by using an AI with a 90% error rate to decline 30% of all insurance claims including stuff like chemo.

How many lives did he ruin?
