I’m at my Nigerian mom’s house and she’s talking about how she doesn’t see that many black people at any of the protests. I said why should we be there? We already tried to help and it didn’t work. She said “But this affects us too.” My face:

I have insomnia. For some reason some nights I’ll lie awake and start thinking how little space our tongues actually have in our mouths and start to feel an insane wave of claustrophobia.
