I really wanted to like the theatrical more because 4 hours is crazy but the pacing genuinely feels off to me. Wild that a 3 hour movie can feel rushed but it does. Extended spaces it out and slows it down just enough imo

Just like if someone writes a book that is a difficult read they shouldn’t be expected to also write a simplified version for those who can’t or don’t want to read the long, difficult book. That’s the experience they created. To change that fundamentally changes the art

but the experience of a game isn’t solely story. Developers are also creating an experience through their art in addition to story. If you don’t want to or can’t play hard games then that piece of art isn’t for you. An artist shouldn’t have to change the experience they intended to create
