No idea how I got here
butts
lol Google definitely has been enshittified.
I'd recommend double checking on something like Wikipedia, it usually clarifies and isn't awash with lazy A.I whatever.

I love seeing the "there's only two Terminator movies" fans.
But there's only one Terminator movie.
THE FINAL BATTLE OF THE FUTURE HAPPENED IN 1984 L.A.
Not saying T2 isn't a well made movie but the moment it just shrugs and said "well they actually used the Time Machine twice" the series was cooked

I don't think anything killed her career beyond just kinda running up to her own limitations as an actress.
And she wasn't on Arrow for years, just one season.

I think comic booky is only helpful if describing something that isn't based on a comic book;
Like I can say Darkman is very comic booky, or Psycho Goreman, etc.
December 17, 2025 at 11:43 PM
What gets attention and what doesn't seems pretty arbitrary yeah lol.
I'm mostly reminded of Longlegs last year which had a similar vague but intriguing marketing campaign but ultimately I feel that movie is a lot more underwhelming compared to Weapons.

Yes, mildly engaging with a work is equal to a 2009 insult.
You're very smart, we all agree.
December 16, 2025 at 8:32 PM
I'd have to scan what all actually came out this year but I could understand it being best horror flick of the year if Sinners didn't exist, sure.
December 16, 2025 at 8:30 PM
Well I find Joss Whedon pretty insufferable so divorcing him from the concept makes Solo an instant improvement.

"Fallen"??? What the actual fuuuuuuuck 😂
Sue is literally the moral center of that movie. It's Reed who's gotta actually overcome a character flaw.
Now I know you're just smashing words together.

I don't agree with "focused" but if that's how you feel Go Off King.
It's also a single element of my wider point;
Either you're using that term so vaguely that it's meaningless or you're purposely ignoring media.
Let me guess, you think Predator Badlands was a princess movie too?
December 16, 2025 at 8:18 PM
It's interesting because they clearly didn't take the toxicity seriously until Solo bombed, assuming the backlash was Real when in reality they essentially filmed Solo twice;
It was insane to think that movie was gonna make two blockbusters worth of profit.
They psyched themselves out.

The two biggest Star Wars things post RoS is about a dude bounty hunter and a male rebel.
They went out of their way to revive the Daredevil show.
The last Marvel flick was an ensemble who's main lady was well into her middle age dealing with pregnancy.
What the fuck are you talking about with this
December 16, 2025 at 7:02 PM
Solo is a perfectly decent lil flick.
Not something I'd revisit but it succeeds in what it wants to be.
Really the biggest problem I think it has is it feels more like it belongs in Firefly than Star Wars.
December 16, 2025 at 6:58 PM
I looked it up lol, it's del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities.
December 16, 2025 at 6:50 PM
I wanted to like this flick but it's kind of a meandering nothing.
The worst aspects of 70's sci-fi thrillers with none of the interesting bits.
Mandy is definitely an improvement. I'll even say his bit for some anthology flick was pretty decent
(Can't recall the name; had Peter Weller in it)
December 16, 2025 at 6:48 PM
Really you just need the first four flicks and the last one.
Maybe the TV show, I didn't watch enough of it to really form a coherent opinion.
December 16, 2025 at 6:42 PM
This also isn't a defense of Trevorrow;
I'm not gonna judge a movie that doesn't exist and frankly his body of work doesn't impress me.
All that said Yes, his script at least seemed more interesting than anything JJ Abrams was willing to do.

Because he created the enormous bomb Book of Henry.
That and Disney was still reeling from the clusterfuck that was Solo's development so the idea of working with someone they thought they couldn't manage scared them right back into the least interesting filmmaker in their call history.

Richard Brake as a big game monster hunter???
Surprisingly in-depth character arc for the lead???
I'm there every time!
December 16, 2025 at 5:57 PM
Big Fun creature feature!
Insane that it spun off six sequels.
Even insaner that roughly half of them are actually decent. 🪱 🪱 🪱

Yeah the amount of people saying "I know where you stand on Trans Rights if you do a Fortnite" isn't surprising but is, as you said, toxic mongering nonsense.
I don't play the game, I respect anyone who does wanna make an effort to boycott it, but man some folks need to chill with the grandstanding
December 16, 2025 at 5:31 PM
Cake, as the kids call it.
But those pits ain't nothing to laugh at either 🤤

My dad made chocolate chip cookies and I know I should stop eating them.

Buuuuuuuuut

It's interesting seeing the reason folks don't revisit things is the emotional drain.
I love feeling big emotions during entertainment, that shit is my jam.
Absolutely fuck me up, TV/Film.
Of course I understand not everyone wants to do a Feelings Triathlon for the entertainment, which is valid.
