Day 6 of #bweirdOCtober - Relationships ✨

Pretty sure I took the romantic approach for this last year, so for this year I'm highlighting all the siblings!

Gabriel and Angelica are fraternal twins! They don't live near each other, so everyone is always surprised to learn Gabriel not only has a sister but a TWIN sister. They don't have that many common interests (Gabriel's punk rock, Angelica's girly), but they still get along pretty well and always looked out for each other when they were in school.

Abner, Alma and Avery make up the Adams siblings. Abner is the eldest, and went missing when he was 11. Alma was old enough to remember him, so she spent most of her youth very upset by it - though she would still try and put on a brave face for her friends and family. Avery on the other hand was too young to remember Abner, so he found it hard to feel the same sense of loss his family did. When he found out Abner had been alive the whole time, he was then pretty angry that he'd put their family through so much hurt (it was complicated - he was too embarrassed to return home after being cursed by a witch) and it's taken years for Abner to slowly start mending their relationship.

Klaus would have much preferred to be an only child. He didn't feel any kind of connection to Lester; he cried a lot, he was annoying. And it didn't help that their parents expected Klaus to be a good big brother and help Lester, or look out for him. Despite this view, Klaus knew that it was only a matter of time before their parents would start comparing them - who was smarter? Stronger? Better at magic? With this in ming, why the hell would he ever want to help his younger brother keep up? No, Klaus would make sure that he kept the skill gap between them nice and wide...he wanted to be the only one their father praised, which further fostered his grudge for his little brother.

While Klaus went from gifted child to normal adult, Lester was a late bloomer that managed to close the gap between them, and was still angling to surpass it. Klaus' obsession with being named the superior son - a product of their upbringing, where only one successor to their family would be named - festered into something far more deranged. He saw the way that Lester was catching their father's attention (while he was being further and further ignored) - and he didn't like it. Eventually, Klaus snaps and tries to kill Lester, but not before Lester finally exceeds his magical talents and stops him. Klaus burns all his bridges - as a fire mage, somewhat literally - all over the toxic need for approval from their dad. Had Klaus been an only child, he may have ended up a much healthier and happier person.
