Spare a thought for French kids this #StNicholasDay. #PèreFouettard, his sinister pal, was a cannibal butcher. He lured 3 boys & murdered them for food. St Nick resurrected them & made the butcher serve him as penance. #PèreFouettard scares "bad" kids with a whip or being put in his sack! #folklore

En el folclore alpino, San Nicolás premia a los niños buenos con regalos. Pero lo acompaña el #Krampus —entre íncubo y fauno— que castiga a los malos metiéndolos en su saco y devorándolos hasta los huesos. En otros lugares se conoce como #PèreFouettard, #Belsnickel o HansTrapp.
