And since we don't process dopamine correctly a LOT of us have anxiety disorders bc we are hacking our adrenaline systems to do the same task initiation tasks... with long-term health consequences including burnout in our 30s because our adrenal system just doesn't have the juice anymore to keep up.

Eating breakfast improves health, no matter what you eat for your first meal of the day.

With an adrenal disorder, one of the things i quickly learned is that the body doesn’t distinguish between “good stress” and “bad stress”
To it, tress is just stress. We may have similar physical reactions to both a wedding and a funeral
Safety and rest are requested to process both, and that’s ok

Remember that the anxiety that can accompany "good" emotions or events in trauma recovery isn't a indication we're in trouble or something's about to go horribly wrong-- it's an artifact of old conditioning that has us anticipating & "armoring" against the worst case scenario.

And if you don't have ovaries, your adrenal glands produce it too. In lesser quantities. T can be prescribed as part of hormone replacement therapy just like estrogen is.
I studied up after my ovaries were removed.

A cis woman could have a prostate if she had an intersex condition resulting in higher testosterone during development, e.g. congenital adrenal hyperplasia. And of course, most trans women have prostates (but not all- they could be intersex, too).

I know someone who actually had an aldosterone-secreting adrenal nodule, like a physiology exam question that you'd never see IRL.

This feels insane because panic happens so fast.
In the short time you respond to a stressor, your brain has already chatted with your bones, who then signal the adrenal glands that it's go time
It's baffling how complicated cross-body communication gets

What makes us feel "fight or flight" may be less adrenaline and more of something else—a hormone that seeps out of our bones.

It is a relief to know I am not in adrenal crisis, but I still feel awful. I think I have way overdone it for too many days and it has just caught up with me.

Morning is when your brain produces the most amount of ACTH which is the hormone your brain sends to your adrenal glands to make cortisol to get your body up and running for the day. Cortisol is also the stress hormone, so it makes sense. A cut of tea in the morning might help a bit, sending love

Here come the big tyranids (along with some straggler little ones who were in their box). Three lictors (one of which came apart, although I guess they all lost some barbs), zoanthrope, and some gaunts/gants painted in the red and purple scheme. More big guys in the next post.

Being so forreal, I headcanon Jason as Autistic. ND folks have a strong reaction to percieved injustices, real or fabricated. Plus, we're scientifically documented to have larger, more sensitive Amygdala, meaning we're traumatized easier. Combine that with rage issues from adrenal response and bam.

We had a girl who had Addison's. Cora lived for eight years after her diagnosis. She was 3 when she got sick. I had never thought of dogs having adrenal glands. She was the sweetest thing.

📢 Raise awareness this #InvisibleDisabilitiesWeek.
People with hidden conditions, like Addison's and adrenal insufficiency, may be struggling to manage symptoms, but when you see them in the street you wouldn’t know anything is wrong.

Could Hilary Clinton be propping up neoliberalism, that in turn props up wealth inequality, which in turn allows pedos to leverage their wealth to escape punishment?
No. She is literally keeping kids in a dungeon under a pizza parlour and harvesting their adrenal secretions 🙃
