Oh, hey, speaking of #AgainstTheStorm: look at what I managed to pull off last night. I’m aware there’s a ridiculous amount of difficulty beyond this, but I’m nevertheless pleased.

World map, end of a cycle, focused on a completed Gold Seal. Including the seal run, a total of 8 towns were completed to finish the cycle. This run was slow: everything was done on Viceroy, with most towns taking about 8 years each.

#AgainstTheStorm: 5:30 minute timed order, Prestige 1 (first time at this difficulty), on Cursed Royal Woodlands.

My inner Leeroy Jenkins is screaming let’s go! But sense is suggesting that’s irresponsible.

A Timed Order details screen, entitled “Distant Journey”; for simply opening 5 glades (which would likely be possible in 5:30 minutes), I’d get a perk for 5 stone a minute, a Brickyard blueprint for making bricks, pottery, and metal, and a nice allotment of copper bars.

Cursed Royal Woodlands sizes all glades the same and hides the labels on them. One has no idea into what one is cutting.

#AgainstTheStorm: I’ve been working through my third cycle, attempting to get to the Silver Seal.

This cycle has been nuts. Almost every town was done next to a world event; most gave royal resupply.

All on Veteran, for whatever that’s worth. I’ll probably kick up to Viceroy next cycle.

The map itself is muted but colorful, arrayed in a hexagonal grid pattern. Each cell represents a biome type that a potential town can be built upon.

The bottom of the screen showcases the cycle timeline, as represented by the order of when towns were completed.

A potential engagement of the Silver Seal, showing potential caravans that could be sent, as well as potential embarkation bonuses. It’s worth noting that I’ve accrued 20 banked embarkation points from royal resupplies. I’ll be able to take so many bonuses into this next run.

Of particular note is the highlighted deed, denoting that the town was finished in 5 or fewer years. This town took 5, and is the first time I’ve been that fast. Most of the towns this cycle were 6 years long; the first was 7.

I played a lot more #AgainstTheStorm last night. I’m finding meat production to be very difficult, which means Lizards and Harpies are much more challenging to keep happy.

A lot of that is RNG with maps and the unlocks I’ve accomplished, but still: annoying.

I only got through the tutorial towns, but it was addictive enough that I’m now earnestly thinking about it.
