the game does a good job of balancing the environment and its hazards enough that players, more often than not, have more to gain from cooperation than from aggression (but not always!) which i find extremely interesting
It's pretty incredible how nice other Arc Raiders players are.
Most games have a sense of desperation to survive and that goes for EVERYBODY you meet and since it's PvPvE you have to be suspicious of other players.
So far it looks like common courtesy exists for a large amount of the community.

I tend to think it's a side-effect of bad practices endemic to the AAA Space causing consumers to become demanding. They see that they have to browbeat and brigade to get against AAAs to have anything serious addressed, and that aggression gets misdirected at Indies at out of habit.
Gamers have such incredibly unreasonable demands of indies it's sort of a wonder anything gets made at all.
I could never fault an indie dev for just wanting to withdraw entirely from public from what are deeply wild, unfair or aggressive demands on their passion projects from 'gamers'.

It is a war crime to supply/fund another nation that is committing a genocide. Lieing to get citizens to agree to a war/military intervention may be a crime of aggression.
