The Wheel of Time has lots of rivers, but I struggled to find a scene with them that I could illustrate. In the end I just drew Aiel shocked by the amount of unguarded, unused water.
I really HATE this #art, my worst in a long time. But I don't want to miss a day.

Wheel of Time being number 2 stings as much as Willow. Wheel of Time was *just* getting interesting from a book reader perspective. Mat started being Mat. Perrin was awesome and Rand starting to go crazy was very satisfying. Aiel flashback ep was peak WoT.

In the middle of book four, it feels like Jordan is only just beginning to settle on certain worldbuilding elements and where the story is going (the section I'm reading now has the backstory of the Aiel, not sure if that was covered in the show?), so that would about match up I think

I have a complicated relationship with The Wheel of Time, and each time I reread the series I wind up liking the stuff I like more and hating the stuff I hate more. At this point I despise the Aiel, an over the top warrior society that feels vaguely Irish, except that they live in the desert.

People of colour need sunscreen too. The Aiel casting including people if colour is a great thing but it's not because they're OK in the sun. Ayoola Smart is from Cork, she's not any more acclimatised to heat than Josha

This! I think they're going to save the impact of the Maidens for when they reveal Rand's parentage, & they embrace him as their own lost son & brother. It'll be something like, I have no family among you, I can never fully be Aiel..& thousands of them will be there like YES YOU DO, AND YES YOU ARE.
