#Airman
I made it through 6 years as an enlisted Airman without getting a Nazi tattoo.

Some thoughts:

Nazis are bad

I'm suspicious that someone can "unwittingly" get a Nazi tattoo

If one does unwittingly get a Nazi tattoo, they should get it removed

This doesn't feel that hard

Makes me want to dine like a senescent wing commander, the only guest in a drab 80s Eastbourne hotel, the meals of my interwar boarding school, as the empty facing chair recalls my loving wife (more like a sister really) & my smouldering, unconsummated affair with a fellow airman during the blitz
Today has the same quality of soul-roving restless tedium & complete contentment, shatter-boned chill & shin burn of sitting too close to a three bar fire as being a bored, beautifully behaved child at an elderly relative’s house, the odd ache of mutually exclusive sensations, simultaneously present
Today, the weather here is a cross between the experience of hearing The World in Action theme while dreading playground bullying & PE tomorrow & scenes from Threads, deleted for being “too bleak to believe” & “far too fucking depressing for even the most emotionally robust adult audience”

Decades ago I entered a bar in Amsterdam and found a fellow airman sitting alone in a drunken daze. He was staring at his arm which was covered full-length with a tattoo of a panther. Today, more than 60 years later, he has no recollection of getting it.

My post was about the military servicemembers who are following illegal orders, not the president himself. Under the UCMJ any soldier, airman or sailor is required to refuse to disobey any illegal order.

Ordering the killing of non-combatants in international waters is an illegal order.

90 something year old airman got up out of his wheelchair to wave to the crowd, who went crazy. The jumbo tron camera then zoomed in on my fat ass, the only person sitting in the damned arena, desperately trying to eat my ice cream before it melted. Closest I'll ever come to Curb Your Enthusiasm.

I was at a Kings game where they announced one of the Tuskegee airmen was sitting court side. I was holding a sleeping 2 year old in one arm and a waffle cone with 3 heaping scoops of ice cream in the other. The crowd stood to cheer the airman, while I had to sit due to what I was holding. Then the

The Kennedy legacy is about to take it's darkest turn. They will no longer be heralded as an elite family, but as the producers of the next J. Marion Sims, Wendell Johnson and Mary Tudor, and the conductors of the Tuskegee Airman experiments. We have a long history of cruelness towards each other.

Who remembers the night that Trump embarrassed America by giving Rush Limbaugh the Medal of Freedom at a SOTU speech - in the presence of a Tuskegee Airman?

I do - and Trump did it again with his Charlie Kirk stunt. He has forever desecrated the highest civilian award. Shameful.

When I was an Airman, my supervisor would sometimes shut the office door early on Fridays in the underground nuclear storage bunker we worked in so we could play pirated Delta Force on the LAN. Good times.

Now that’s just humiliating. Airman Smith has to watch Secdef grill his commander for being fat. Can’t imagine what that does to moral and military bearing.
