Wanted to make a nicer setup for Bruja. Pretty happy with the result! I ended up removing the purple moss because it was retaining too much moisture.

She's currently barricaded in her hide, so I assume she's prepping to molt again. 🖤

Saw another Texas Brown (A. hentzi) strolling by and wanted to give him a lift back out into the wild. Big guy was very docile but mobile, so most of the pics didn't turn out. Always a pleasure to encounter one of these sweethearts, though. 😊

Here's an odd one - the dimorphic jumping spider (Maevia inclemens). Males take one of two distinct forms (morphs), which is a very rare thing in zoology; this is the "tufted" or "dark" morph. #backyardnature #arachnology

Below is a ritual I made for working on a project.
One of my friends was playing an artist, and wanted to kick start interest in her work in a place that had never heard of her. Skill+Will and some narration could have worked, but this was a defining moment in her story - it deserved more. 4/8
Ritual of the Craft Here’s how you might get your hands dirty and work on a project. Are you making something? Fixing something? If you want to use this ritual for this, get everyone’s attention and agreement. Once you have that, start the ritual with a phrase like “Let’s get to work!” and take turns answering prompts as directed by the HG: -Describe the tools or materials used for project “I’ve got a bunch of Spider-Man comics and this arachnology textbook for my collage…” -Describe how you contribute to progress on the project “First I need to trace the pattern of the dress onto the cloth…” -Describe an interruption or interlude in your progress “While I’m waiting for the paint to dry, I head down to the corner store to get a snack…” -Describe what the project means to you - what it represents, why you’re making it or how it makes you feel. “I’m restoring this bicycle because it’ll make it easier to visit my friends in Fortitude.” -Give a sensory description of the work or the process. “You hear a hiss as you crack the egg into the frying pan.” -Describe the workspace or something that happens there not related to the work “As you’re writing in the cafe, a mother with a child comes in. The kid stares curiously at you.” -Describe a reaction to a recent event in the ritual. “I look up and give the kid a little wave before going back to my work.” -Describe something happening elsewhere that is somehow reflected in the work “As you paint the clouds into the scene, my character is getting lunch. You can see the steam rise out of his ramen bowl .”

I don’t think loving arachnids is exclusively evil. Personally I think arachnids are cool as hell. I just thought it would be an interesting juxtaposition for Evil Queenie to be into Arachnology to contrast Queenie being into Entomology.
