I think I broke a brick wall in my family tree. I found a military document for my grandfather that has a different middle name but everything else matches up. I hope it leads me to a census record. #Genealogy #BlackGenealogy

In the past month, I've found my 5th, 6th, and 7th Great-Grandfathers, and they ALL have my last name. I have broken a new ceiling, as my 7th Great-Grandfather was a Nigerian man born in England and came to North Carolina to do missions work for Indians. #BlackGenealogy #BlackAncestry

In better Ancestry news... one of my favorite discoveries is the interview of my 3x great grandaunt who was formerly enslaved in Bastrop, TX (near Austin). She was about 14 when she, her parents, and her siblings were emancipated. This week- I found her picture 🥰 #genealogy #Blackgenealogy #ADOS
