#BlueSCSI
There Be Dragons Here

It has been an extremely slow and unstable experience so far, but its more or less running off the internal 810MB HDD

had to make a new PReP boot floppy via carving the first partition out from OS/2 bluescsi image and patching bytes (need to find OS/2 userland fu to etch)
tomorrow I'm going to see what it thinks about a 10,000RPM U160 Cheetah instead of the bluescsi

I lost a couple of hours today trying to use a BlueSCSI HDD image with SCSI ID 0 on a Silicon Graphics machine...

(one where the SCSI controller is on ID 0)

I’m wondering if it’s the BlueSCSI itself being weird. I know getting them to work on Sun hardware is a pain in the arse at the best of times.

had to patch things up in the prep partition to point to the right boot config

bluescsi cdrom emulation keeps making it hang in the boot process

fingers crossed

I think I forgot to mention during the stream today that I provided a zip of my BlueSCSI image that will boot on the UG20 (instructions and link are also in the video description). drive.google.com/file/d/1ZB_D...

easy install is flying on bluescsi

just waiting for it to halt and catch fire
December 24, 2025 at 12:55 AM
at some point scsi cd-rom i/o to bluescsi is causing it to bork too

really hope its isolated to this environment
December 24, 2025 at 12:51 AM
the installer managed to partition the bluescsi just fine

it also blasted the prep bootloader bits onto the first partition

the fat filesystem seemed to mount just fine

so I can only imagine what the heck caused the installer to bail at that point

its seemingly lowlevel scsi related

Hey, do you need or would like a BlueSCSI card? I got inadvertantly gifted one I don't need.

I’m not at a computer but just need to wire up the gpio to the i2c buttons. Have to pull up kicad or look at the defines for which ones they are on the bluescsi. Also which hardware rev of db25 as the older one has them exposed on the board github.com/BlueSCSI/Blu...

Köpte just en julklapp åt mig själv.
En BlueSCSI
En liten adapter till raspberry pi Micro som gör om den till en scsi disk. Vilket nog kan passa dels en retro dator men framför allt ett par av mina gamla samplers.

Tuesday at 2:30PM EST we're going to finish up the FM Towns II UG20 saga so I can get it back to its owner. There's still one floppy drive to service and I'll show how I modified a 72pin SIMM and got a BlueSCSI to work with the machine.

The drive is absolutely roached. But, i cleaned it up as best as I could and swapped over a Conner 40SC board so I can BlueSCSI Initiator dump it. Its... actually trying!

Playing around with adding BlueSCSI Toolbox protocol support to DingusPPC. Though somewhat roundabout, the end result is that you can transfer files in and out of more emulated machine types on Infinite Mac. As a bonus, it also makes the Macintosh Garden library […]

I bought this bluescsi from you... Feb2024 when my buddy picked up this SE from his local craigslist for me. Its only taken me almost two years to get it from him! 😬😬😬

Alright! Booted BasilsikII (on 7.5.3), made a 20mb DSK file. Turned it to an HDA file and tossed that on my BlueSCSI so I could copy Microsoft Works to my SE! This is so cool

Realized oh yeah, VCF SoCal is like two months away and given these prints are quite long I should start rolling with them. Not sure if I’m gonna print some BlueSCSI ones just yet but we’ll see.

Installing a 50p internally & want to be extra cautious you should. I'm comfortable moving around with the back off and install a HDD, but not everyone is for sure and thats ok. Good things to consider are a mount to access the SD card from the front, or a BlueSCSI DB25 that plugs in the back

Anyone following me put a bluescsi into their Macintosh SE lately? Do I have to discharge the CRT to do this? Gotta run to Ace to get some aligator clips still before I open the case, sigh.

Macintosh SE FDHDを分解保守。内蔵HDDが死んだのでBlueSCSIに置き換え。HDDのベイごと外したのでベイに乗ってたアクセスLEDが無くなった。そのためアクセスLEDも自作で搭載。

Been toying with the Torch Tx floppy's. Finally accepted that without re-compiling Unix it's unlikely the Gotek will ever work other than for Key Disk duty.

But I got a blank disk image that works great on the BlueSCSI. Had to remove files from an existing image which was mounted in Linux.

LCs FOR SALE! Just went through all of these myself, so they have been gone through.

Two were bombed, replaced the boards and got rid of the shields. the other 4 weren't. All are fixed/working. 2 of which have Bluescsi v2, 1 is a bluescsi v1, rest still have original HDDs. (Ran out of blueSCSIs)
