True story: My great aunt used to work in Brooklyn as a bookkeeper and she’d get all our Italian Easter cookies, lamb cake and pastiera napoletana from Court St Pastries. After she retired, she’d take a taxi from central New Jersey, to buy them until she died.

This is also referenced in Schindler's List to my recollection, where the bookkeeper is scratching his head and tells Schindler he does that to keep the guards away from him (lice spread the disease)

also, the story is worth reading for the insane figures this dude was pushing to the ATO, and they were paying out on. Once again I stress: my bookkeeper freaks out if there is an icy cold can of coke on a fuel invoice.

Yeah, the FBI wants to make it no longer a federal crime. No one does a takeover with a crew where you get the vault and everything, you're better off selling drugs. Payday isn't the bookkeeper handing every employee their pay in cash, a cashless society is terrible for bank robbery.

to refer to the paper stub. The gigs all send me tax forms at the start of the year, and my bookkeeper just uses the deposit on my bank statement to document where all my income came from.

So...why do I have a folder of check stubs?? Do I need these? Can I shred/recycle them please? 2

My latest, on a man who supported the war in Afghanistan, came to the U.S. legally, applied for asylum, had two kids, became a bookkeeper, bought an American flag bumper sticker.

Then ICE arrested him. If he's deported, he expects the Taliban to kill him.
