On this day in 1924, Buddy MacMaster was born in Timmins, Ontario. An internationally-acclaimed fiddler, he was an expert in the tradition and lore of Cape Breton fiddle music. He was awarded the Order of Canada and his niece is fiddler Natalie MacMaster. He released five albums.

Here are my two Oblivion characters; Evander Jourdain and M’zara!
Evander is an Imperial/Breton and M’zara is a Bosmer/Khajiit. M’zara is ironically fully blind- if she wasn’t she’d have super good eyesight.

Page from around 1950 but the Bécassine character dates from about 1905. Somewhat controversial in her time as she was based on a Breton stereotype, Bécassine is one of the first regularly appearing comics characters. The early stories predated the use of word balloons and captions, and it stuck

Après il faut dire que ça sert pas trop de parler breton au Chili ou en Chine, que les écoles publiques font pas parler breton, qu’une fois sortie du système scolaire tu n’a plus l’occasion de parler Le Breton au quotidien.

Talked our daughter into trying out astrophotography a few years back (she's team Nikon, I'm team Canon), and also got her to sit still for a 30-second exposure of my 8mm fisheye lens, looking North from Point Michaud, Cape Breton Island. I made a print!
