Border prince bombard ready for action! A simple and hopefully oft converted cities of sigmar cannon made into this piece.

Rapanse is the other one who gets brought up when Bretonnia gets mentioned.

Kann mir keiner erzählen dass Bretonnia in Warhammer Fantasy kein Reich des Bösen ist.

All in a day's work. Got these five done from start to finish in just today (almost, primed em last night and still need to apply transfers to the red and yellow, i'm not freehanding three fleur de lis)

I admit my enjoyment of 8th edition as game. I'm just shy of the Ogres and 6th ed Bretonnia book (that was their last one).

I think them and parts of whatever information the TOW books provide could easily expand the scope of 4th ed RPG as well, even with a TOW RPG on the way.

All right, the break is over. On this catalogue spread, the Brets Questing Knights ride out in full heraldic madness. Champions, banners, trumpets – it all felt impossibly grand back then. This page sold me on Bretonnia long before rules ever did.

Next project #workinprogress ! I'm doing more artillery. I started this a while ago but I've finally got round to finishing it. I love the cities of sigmar range but it's not Bretonnia!

Across all the editions of Warhammer Fantasy, there's never been any kind of penalty for using spells in a duel, even among particularly honorbound cultures like the asur and bretonnia. Leads me to think that there isn't any kind of "using magic in a duel is cheating" sentiment in the setting, and-

I'd be willing to entertain "this upsets the sexist labor imbalance of feudal societies," but I don't think we need to bother with those notions when we're talking about such a stratified society as knightly Bretonnia. There's likely no world in which those mothers are mothering their own kids.

1) is unlikely to be something acknowledged or discussed in polite circles, but possible. 2) is extremely likely but doesn't explain what happens when the king needs to call up forces countrywide. 3) is one of those things that should just be assumed bc it severely helps make Bretonnia make sense.

Rationalizing Bretonnia supporting knightly armies year-over-year w/o depleting the fighting population. A combo of 1) there's an unstated mechanism of advancement for the yeomanry, 2) feudal musters are smaller but landless knights roam the country & help armies freely, & 3) women are knights too.

For example, I can't picture the empire of individualistic ornate imperial knights – and empire of cheaply made, but equally powerful Baneblade tanks as one and the same.
They should have made Space Bretonnia! With expensive ornate mechs and comedically mistreated, mandatory draft levy.

Warhammer TWIII Faction Gripe: I’d like Bretonnia more if their units weren’t likely to lose the Lost At Agincourt Award

Hell yea I'd buy that.
Be nice right next to my SM, CSM, IG, Bretonnia, and Warriors of Darkness!
Gimme an entire SC Terran line, and I'm sold (so long as I can kitbash well enough... The Wilderfiend model was absolutely terrible.)

Tre-moo-chet done! Fetchez le Vache! Time to launch another cow! Fully painted with crew ready to fling cows at the enemies of Bretonnia!

COMMISSION: Sir Landuin the Dragon Slayer, Grail Knight of Bretonnia. I drew this guy way back at the start of his story, so it was very cool to compare his growth over the course of a campaign

I see antler helmet, my Bretonnia heart begins buzzing

Work in progress on the trebuchet!
It's almost here, the trebuchet in action. I've gone for a light brown wood and corroded bronze for the metal work. I need to do some highlights on the bronze and some grass tufts next.

also a lot of said lore has not aged well

shoutouts to Bretonnia for doing the “it’s not misogyny, it’s totally historically accurate for women to be objectified and have no rights” bit and then failing to do anything meaningful with it as per usual

blood bowl is a lot of fun with the right group too. i always like playing the normal humans against unimaginable horrors in most games. i’ve played bretonnia since 6th ed WHFB and guard were my favorite in 40k.
