just got done watching an episode where the main villain was an obviously gay-coded manager for a pop star who was snobbish and demanding and abusive, and it made me think how much a song like "love is in bloom" could rly pass for a CCM pro-DOMA anthem

Tbf, the Nashville area also has Middle Tennessee State (which is in Murfreesboro, a Nashville suburb). Nashville is also the epicenter of CCM (Contemporary Christian Music), which I think says worse about it than pop country does
