Meteor hitting the earth is a natural event and has been going on for billions of years.
Chicxulub meteor caused extreme change to the entire earth’s weather killing off many species including the dinosaurs.
Naturally occurring events do not mean it’s safe for human life.

like saying the Chicxulub crater impact didn't lead to the dinosaurs' demise (it didn't, but ...)
That's a very low bar.
Those most affected by climate change are those who have contributed the least to global CO₂ emissions.

Hidden 5-mile wide asteroid crater beneath the Atlantic revealed in stunning 3D | ScienceDaily
A massive crater hidden beneath the Atlantic seafloor has been confirmed as the result of an asteroid strike from 66 million years ago. The new 3D seismic data reveals astonishing details about the violent minutes following impact—towering tsunamis, liquefied rock, and shifting seabeds. Researchers call it a once-in-a-lifetime look at how oceanic impacts unfold.

(The more popular comparison has been Chicxulub but let's be for fucking real for a second: that's a case where the environmental fundamentals were sound, just fatally interrupted by a giant space rock. What's happening in print journalism is a fundamental, ever-worsening disaster in the ecosystem.)

This happened around the same time as the Chicxulub impact, suggesting that the dinosaurs had one hell of a bad day!

1 Chicxulub/century: (300 ZJ/Chicxulub asteroid)/(63 TJ/Hiroshima A-bomb) ~= 4.8×10^9 Hiroshima A-bombs/Chicxulub asteroid ~= the 5 GHB that Eliot Jacobson calculated (climatecasino.net/2023/11/the-...) for the total heating (cumulative Earth Energy Imbalance) between the 1920s and late 2023.
The "Keeling Curve" for the Earth Energy Imbalance
Also like carbon dioxide which continues to accumulate over time, the EEI creates an ongoing aggregation of heating of the Earth system. The heating is long lasting and compounding. It follows that we...

We are more advanced than you because, while our planets are approximately the same age, our planet never had a Chicxulub Impactor to reset its development. That means we were civilized before Homo Sapiens became a distinct species. However, we also developed more slowly & carefully than you.

5/6 Mammals diversify rapidly, within about 300,000 years after Chicxulub. No Paleocene non-avian dinosaurs are found in here: every dinosaur fossil occurs below the K/Pg boundary.

For decades now we have thought it was a giant asteroid named "Chicxulub" that landed in the Yucatan. In fact it was "ChicShelob", a spider roughly the size of Mount Everest that rampaged across the planet
OK, 6 people will get this, but more will be freaked out by a giant spider. WORTH IT
