Big discussion about finals at my school. Wish I'd had this to show people.
The astonishment from my students that ALL exams are cumulative was, well, astonishing when I moved from UK to US

Ok, I know, but this is the first time a student has commented that I actually hit that moment).

With 4 exam classes this year, got some time to work on new LC Chemistry specification teaching sequence. Felt stuck for awhile but generated “themes” & started writing retrieval practise statements and feeling excited about teaching it. Good progress made. #edchatie #cogscisci #iteachchemistry

Attended Cogscisci 2025. One change I noticed this year was the ease among educators (both listeners snd speakers) to have discussion around an area and challenging their thought process.

Reminder:
There is no peer-reviewed paper on #BuildingThinkingClassrooms by Peter Liljedahl. And there isn't even a single non-reviewed paper on its effectiveness for learning.
no paper => no research
The research-based claim is fake.

An issue I'm seeing across #CogSciSci proponents is a lack of clear distinction between "Checking for listening" and "checking for understanding".
In other words, without a clear distinction, it appears that understanding is understood as the ability to say exactly what the teacher has said.
