I don’t think it’s that complex. Covid’s not in the news and conformists are often smuggos too. They’re not hedging against social healthcare, which isn’t even that good. They’re propagandized & don’t believe illnesses are problems to avoid. (Source: whole remaining fam is European, all live there.)

Sigh. Folks, when someone says something is “cringe” just remember it’s their own insecurities that make them say that. They don’t have the self confidence to do it/wear it/say it so instead they gotta tell everyone else it’s cringe. They’re just mediocre conformists at heart.

Hard disagree. Prebyterians and other non-conformists founded the United Irishmen and were at the forefront of the American Revolution. In England non-conformists decapitated King Charles I and started a republic. Lots of Presbyterians in Scotland are anti-monarchy, and lots support leaving the UK.

i don't know what to tell anyone to do about this, but a lot of our white boomer parents, no matter what politics they claim they have, are spiritually and emotionally very in tune with the republican party. they feel social conservatism on a gut level. they are racist. they are conformists.

all action movies are at least a little bit fascist in that victory is achieved through violence. But Hot Fuzz is about as anti-fascist as buddy cop comedies get. In a village run by brutal conformists, Sergeant Angel is the only one on the side of justice and freedom.
I’m watching Hot Fuzz, which I haven’t rewatched in years because last time i remembered it was a thing it was a broad consensus across my social circles that one shouldn’t talk about watching it because it was an inherently fascist movie
