Let’s get real, though. Livestock animals are kept in the animal equivalent of utopia. Abundance of food and water, shelter, and a distinct lack of predators. The reason a wild animals meat is darker is because of cortisol, ie, stress.

i’ve had soo much on these past few months that i’ve had really high blood pressure and cortisol and it has been ROUGH but today i completed my final appointment/obligation & i will now be spending the foreseeable future re-regulating my body & resting 🥹

Youd think Halloween would make people more delicious but thats a myth! The excessive sugar triggers a cortisol cascade, which makes them taste kinda like an armpit. The most delicious humans are Thanksgiving immediately after dinner but before Black Friday.

I saw a post that stated women have a cortisol spike half an hr after waking up. It was in the context of "so that's why you shouldn't skip breakfast and go straight to the gym" but I wonder if doom scrolling skips that 30mins and sends you straight to cortisol town...

Sorry I didn't have the energy to reply earlier. What matters most is that you're happy and healthy! I've done more research on it and I think my plateau came about because I haven't slept more than a few hours each night and I got flooded with cortisol. Funny how everything plays into ones health.
