The first notable major difference is time period. The film is set in 1800s from Victor's childhood, to 1855, date given for his lecture at the Royal College of Medicine in Edinburgh Scotland, the creature was made during Crimean War (1853-1856) 1857 date of climatic arctic conclusion at the ship.
