In 1969, Los Alamos reported the first fluorescence detector apparatus, which accurately measured the number and size of ovarian cells and blood cells, using flow cytometry.
Expanding research from nuclear to medical with research on Cancer,HIV, and vaccines.

Yesterday I gave a talk titled "Dividi et impera: Flow-Cytometry for FACS-based CRISPR screens and beyond" during the Flow Cytometry course organised by @embl.org & EMBLRome facilities. It was nice connecting w/ other users & the specialists from the facilities to hear the latest. FC & #FACS rock 🌈

This paper did the hard-yards of testing various different blocking and signal preservation protocols. For any flow cytometry researchers a thorough read could save months of troubleshooting.

Unlike the naysayers in the commentariat I think this is a good idea. Buy a used centrifuge coated with radioactivity on eBay. Drink ethidium bromide. Set up a flow cytometer where your baby's crib used to be. Go crazy buds.
