Prevalent economic systems throughout the world's history have featured relationships that are oppressive.

Slavery: Master/Slave.

Feudalism: Lord/Serf.

Capitalism: Employer/Employee.

Is there a next step in humanity's economic evolution? How about a relationship where everyone is equal?

Hmm.

Barter. Change your whole life? Not necessary. Change enough to divest from our dependence on the few corporations that, through subsidiaries, own everything from what you wipe your ass with to what you use to wipe your windshield? HELL TO THE YES!

Credit unions are democratic institutions within our economy. They mitigate wealth inequality by reinvesting profits to improve services and lower fees for customers, making banking more accessible and affordable for everyone.

Don't allow greedy for-profit banks to weaken our communities.

We do that by buying differently. Support a citizen owned, citizen run economy. Buy local; farm/ranch direct; from worker owned; from community co-ops; bank at credit unions. Flat capitalism vs pyramidal keeps $ local, longer, & that creates more opportunities.

The GOP wants you to think there are only 2 options: program cuts or economic collapse.

Do. Not. Buy. It.

We can tax the rich and invest in our communities. We can build an economy that delivers for ALL of us. We can dream bigger–and make it real.

How we supply our needs has to change for many reasons: environmental (directly related to), health, political, & economic.

Assume maximalist outcomes. You're not being a fatalist nor surrendering. You're being a realist in remembering what they did; in believing what they're saying. If it scares you, then, surrender. Otherwise: be informed & inform others, organize, #DICC, #DICC-DivestInCorporateControl.

Change how we supply our needs as much as possible: buy from local, farm/ranch direct, ethical corporations, worker owned, cooperative owned, bank at credit unions/local banks. Changing corporate control over our livelihoods/lands/resources, changes everything.

I read that on day one of Amazon Prime Day(s) sales were down 41% from last year. Great start! #BoycottAmazon #BoycottTesla. Since CBS bent the knee to #DementiaDon for their Paramount Plus merger, let’s #BoycottParamountPlus too!

We know through data points from several countries that cooperatives display greater rates of survival than conventional business models, which seems to support the idea that the profit motive is not necessarily a requirement to achieve longevity.

We can change $ in politics, $ in our pockets, how our economy works, our health, our environment—up to us. We change everything, by changing how we supply our needs:
-bank at credit unions;
-buy local, farm/ranch direct, from community

Cooperatives are not a marginal phenomenon. With hundreds of millions in employment and over one billion total members, the cooperative model is a significant contributor to global wealth and economic wellbeing, prioritizing community development and people over profit. 🌎🌍🌏

A democratic society necessitates public and democratic ownership and control over food, transportation, healthcare, water, housing, energy, communication, education, and all of the social institutions we collectively rely on to live with dignity, freedom, and shared prosperity.

@sanders.senate.gov on employee ownership. Senator Sanders has been an advocate for worker ownership for many years, and his Worker Ownership, Readiness, and Knowledge (WORK) Act passed in 2022 thanks to his tireless efforts. Thank you, Bernie! 👏💙

One of the main reasons we are where we are--aside from the social/political aspects--is how we provide for our needs.

We are almost wholly dependent on corporations--big ag/pharma/retail--for all our needs.

Change that, change everything.

If people haven't switched from commercial banks to credit unions, complaints about Wall ST are performative.

If people are using links to biased op eds/reporting from WaPo/NYT/LAT/WSJ, drivel about msm is performative.

Change the control corporations have, TODAY!

My pitch is boycott the highest donors to the GOP. That's how you crush them: take away their fuel.

Boycott Tesla, Twitter, Uline and the fossil fuel industry.

Better yet--time to work at a company you own, to shop at a store you own, to bank at a bank you own--it's called cooperatives. Asking those who've gotten used to making ~600% more than the front line, since the '70s, to give that up, ain't happening. #DICC #DICC-DivestInCorporateControl
American workers are more than 400% more productive than they were in the 1940s.

But all of the economic gains are going straight to the top.

Workers deserve more.

It’s time for a 32-hour work week with no loss in pay.

Lateral wealth spread, instead of pyramidal. Keep money local, has a ripple affect in communities.
#DICC #DICC-DivestInCorporateControl
When workers earn a living wage, they can lead a life free from constant struggle. The increase in purchasing power boosts business revenues, enabling companies to expand and hire more people to participate in the economy. This creates a positive cycle of growth that raises living standards for all.
