Doing some last minute prep for session, I order pizza. They always get here faster than I anticipate (~25 min) so I go downstairs after 20, not wanting to leave them hanging at building's front door.
Of course this will be the time it takes them an hour, for no reason at all.

The Scooby-Doo one-shot is mostly finished: I've got the NPCs, places, and core mystery all figured out. The question now is one of tone: I'm torn between a whimsical, comedic tone like the cartoon, or dark and gritty tone a la Riverdale.

So I have my monthly D&D session tonight. I added a tiny interaction in the very beginning of the campaign that was meant to be a one off thing. However now it's a major plotline I have to make up as I go. Don't deviate from the written adventure kids. It's so much more work. 🤣

One of my players mentioned that he ships one of the other players (mysterious guy) with an NPC (reformed pirate guy) and now I can't stop thinking of scenarios where they have to share the same bed, or it's Very Cold and they need to cuddle, or they have to get fake married! #DMproblems #dnd

I have now googled "How much blood is in a cow?"
I have used that knowledge to calculate how much blood is in a dragon.
And then worked out how much of that blood they could reasonably harvest to sell.
My D&D players are insane and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I don't think I could ever run a game set in Faerun; I'd constantly be terrified that my players know more about whatever faction they're dealing with or place they're in than I do. I'd have to set my game in some long-lost ACTUALLY forgotten continent in the Forgotten Realms.

Thinking about an enchanted suit of armor that is so gaudy it grants advantage on attacks against the wearer, but so sturdy it gives damage rolls disadvantage. I just can't figure out if it's a fun design, or simply annoying 🤔
