OC, not WOL, but Mhati's entire thing is that his face is scarred bad, so he simply just thinks he's not very attractive.
In reality, he has an extremely pretty face and a very sweet smile. Softer than most men in his tribe in the face, but really muscled under his clothes!

Mhati was based pretty heavily around Body Dysphoria and the struggles of Masculinity and meeting the image of what people deem a "man" to be.

for example; aurora tackles themes of femininity, motherhood, womanhood, (in some cases) religion. For me when i make decisions as small as gender it can completely alter how I write a character!!

J'mhati doesn't often catch feelings? (More like he ignores them usually deeming them distracting) But when he does, he gets more stiff around that person unfortunately LOL He tries not to overstep boundaries or come off as too forward or rude.

Quite frankly, if it were not for his mother's defiance and love for him, J'mhati wouldn't even be alive. When her entire tribe told her to let him die, she refused because he was hers. Despite all conflict that followed, she remained in his corner until he needed to leave. ❤

Before I decided he wasn't the WOL or connected to the Scions in any way, J'mhati had THE most one-sided beef with Thancred like it was absurd LOL he couldn't stand that guy at all.

I've never actually had these two meet in any canon, but I feel like they'd be good friends! Couldn't decide who I wanted to do a photoshoot of before the day ended, so why not have them both?

Little design thing, but when drawing J'mhati, I draw his entire face and markings before adding the scars, taking lines out for the sake of consistency. It's fun crafting his whole face, only to erase a large amount!

He's also the WOL of Jinhae's story! They're familiar with each other, and he's just about the only person alive that Jinhae struggled to get along with. They're better friends these days, but mostly due to circumstance. 😳💦

Mhati is coded to be Black/Middle Eastern! He's bilingual and I headcanon that his tribe speaks an in-world equivalent Arabic and that this isn't uncommon for Sun Seeker Miqo'te language either. 💕
