#Degoogled
Long support life is the most important thing for me on a degoogled phone.

Bought an android half that age new in the box earlier this year and had to replace the battery before it would even turn on. Nobody's supporting those except the degoogled android folks and Ubuntu Touch team.

2016 is so far back. That's awesome.

Little bit absurd for a degoogled phone, I still need whatsapp ... and banking apps should be reliably supported

Good camera app for me, some basic degoogled roms have such sad camera apps

Including that Google will never know I use a deGoogled smart device‼️

Having my essential national banking apps work – like India's BHIM/UPI for payments – without needing Google Play Services. If a deGoogled phone can solve that, it's a winner.

My dream deGoogled phone would have:

Secure mail
Secure Calendar
VPN
Signal
MFA Auth App
Secure Password Manager
End-to-end encr. cloud storage client
Tracking protection
Physical conn off switch
Brave or Vivaldi Browser
Navigation
Bluesky client
Tap to pay (not tied to Apple or Google)
Weather app

Basically that the phone is degoogled by design, and I don't have to worry about all the sneaky ways google is trying to get my data anyways.

A #deGoogled phone advantages: private, secure and safe use of all communications and functions of a smart device. @tuta.com is part of that universe: freedom to work and play and talk without Google partaking in my habits and ways of doing things every day!!

god i wish the smartphone space had truly viable alternatives to android and ios.

im very aware of the different forks of degoogled android, and various mobile linux projects, but nothing seems to exist in a really workable way, let alone a satisfying way like the PC market has.

The most recent iOS update is straight trash. iPhone 14 Pro and I’m laggy as shit.

I literally cannot wait to get away from Apple and get a deGoogled Android phone.

Degoogled Chromium or original Chromium? The former is certainly available on Linux
December 18, 2025 at 7:44 AM
Depends on what you mean by "degoogle". A full degoogle takes some work, but you can get off to a very good start if you follow the guides on my website at www.degoogle-your-life.com
It will help you get your browser and device settings much more degoogled than they likely were before.

degoogled chromium is probably the connoisseur’s choice
December 17, 2025 at 4:02 AM
Go look for deGoogled and deMozillad FLOSS browsers like right now.

what's the next best option? firefox fork of some kind? degoogled chromium? D:
December 16, 2025 at 9:04 PM
It is open source and deGoogled but I believe it is android based. There aren't many realistic options for non-android open source phones right now 🙄. Theoretically this could be solved by various linux based projects, the most prominent maybe ubports ubports.com

🙏one day we get more freedom

Lichess Broadcasts of Super-GMs usually end in large draws. I've degoogled, so its a bit of a hassle to wait for another round just for a draw to happen. Not this time tho! Finally, here's a round full of losses.

E vuole anche l'accesso a Google Play per partire 🤣🤣🤣

Anche no grazie. Se hai un sistema degoogled come il mio, non ha senso.

Io passo.

I got a pixel but it's flashed to GrapheneOS which is basically a deGoogled version of android -- you can still use Google apps but you have to download them individually and they're sandboxed.
December 15, 2025 at 2:34 AM
Kinda on the same level of harm reduction I give to google chromium where I only log into a degoogled chromium build when I need to watch something in HDR or do something not compatible with Firefox.
December 14, 2025 at 7:46 AM
well the idea is to just repair the screen and put graphene os on it for a privacy phone but I already have a Samsung S10+ with lineage and fully degoogled and locked down as much as possible
December 14, 2025 at 12:00 AM
OH YEA I SHOULD PROBABLY MENTION WHICH ONE-
murena.com/shop/smartph... check it out babeyyyy

/e/os is also available as an open-source thing to bap onto your phones if u wanna degoogle on a budget but I was planning on getting this phone someday anyway so might as well; there's other degoogled OS-

main reason I'm gettin it is the degoogled part really, my current phone's state is just a secondary reason (it's got a loose piece on the inside which seems to make it heat up way more than it should plus some insane planned obsolescence ofc, hoping to resell it at least)
