like, he debuts as this stoic unbeatable badass, gets beaten by the first real villain... and from then on never loses a single fight he's in

You know, I read 2000AD religiously for a bunch of years as it came out in the 80s and 90s (ie the BEST years), and I still don't quite get the relationship many have with Dredd. I read the strip (because you do when comics are scarce) but it was rarely one I got excited over. Odd stories, sure.

I have a psychological allergy where I can’t get into Judge Dredd comics. Every time I see Judge Dredd, the list of artists is astounding and the art is amazing and as soon as I put my eyeball on one panel of ole bucket head, I’m sleep 😪

The Running Man (2025) : A competent sci-fi action thriller with a really solid cast, some nice set pieces, and an interesting style and tone that reminds me a lot of 2000AD/Judge Dredd Unfortunately, the paceing is a bit uneven, and the ending is a little drawn out.

We Really need to start addressing the root causes of mental health disorders that may cause people to do terrible things like this before actual crimes happen.
Or just Judge Dredd the mentally ill on sight because executions without an investigation or trial is definitely not deeply troubling. /s
