Drummers do not get enough love. In my experience, too many people play guitar and there aren’t enough bands to go around. All the drummers play in 2-3 bands because of it.

The thing that causes me to struggle with quite a bit of modern rock music is the lumpen drumming & monotonous rhythm. Not all modern rock music of course, but there’s a fair bit of it about.
