A new study says only 3% of Earth’s land remains “untouched.” We’ve been editing the planet for millennia as a result of pushing animals/plants to extinction….reshaping entire continents.

"An important predictor of future warming is Earth's energy imbalance [..] It is rising much more quickly than predicted by most climate models, possibly because of a darker planet corresponding to a large decrease in Earth's albedo which is near an all-time low "

Ok, I've never understood what these people mean by 'blowing', so they mean unfurled and held in position by a stick, which you can see. I think they might mean there is no wind on the moon. Moon's gravity is approximately one-sixth that of Earth's.
The flag is 'blowing' because there is very obviously a stick holding it up, this argument gives me a nosebleed whenever I hear it

Peachshift (Marigold), Weathershift (Callith) and Redshift (Sidia). The Shifts are former military workers from Earth's Curtain Wars that refashioned their abilities to transform into costumed heroes. They work as caretakers and/or entertainers for the public.

2nd Nov. 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the ongoing human presence off-world.
That is, humans have continuously occupied the ISS for exactly 25 years today.
So if you're <= 24 years old, you've never lived in a world where humans were *only* terrestrial-based.

On the other hand: that thin red zone contains close to half of the Earth's population, which tells you something about settlement patterns.

just an FYI, when I say “my writing” there's: the writing I publicly share, then there's the writing I keep in my folders, and then there's the earth's molten core, and below THAT there's the "writing" that exists only in cool scenes I imagine in the format of a movie while I fall asleep every night

I also submit for consideration that middle earth’s cartographers maybe just weren’t accurate?
Have you seen some of the maps from the Middle Ages? Some wacky stuff on there and they didn’t even have to avoid armies of evil monsters to map a coastline.

only huge dorks complain about tolkein's unrealistic plate tectonics. yes mordor is shaped like a bigass square but maybe thats because mordor's mountains were not formed the way mountain ranges in our world are
